I have been a Realtor for 19 years in Oklahoma and love the opportunities, freedom, money and flexibility. Being a REALTOR is the BEST JOB IN THE WORLD.

Brief History about my start in the Real Estate Industry:

I went to college for 4 years and left one semester short of graduation. I had a great opportunity to start working at a medical sales and supply company. I worked and slaved for the medical company for 4 years trying to work my way up the corporate ladder. I was asked to be transferred to a new territory in Minnesota. I declined the opportunity because I wanted to stay in Oklahoma. I decided to leave and the company gave me a great severance package. I left Tulsa and moved back home to Oklahoma City. I was fortunate enough to have parents let me move back in even if I was 26. My father, David, asked me to work for him as a Real Estate assistant. I took the job and learned the ups and downs of Real Estate. I used my entire $10,000 severance package to take Real Estate courses, classes, training, etc. I traveled to Colorado, Texas, California, etc to learn as much as I could about Real Estate. I had a record breaking year my first year in Real Estate. I made a total of $600.00.

I worked as an assistant to my father for 4 years at Keller Williams Realty. We both decided to open our own Real Estate Company (Poindexter Properties). We knew we would make more money, keep all the commissions and not "share" a percentage with any franchise company. We left Keller Williams in 2000.  Owning a small independent Real Estate company was the worse decision we could have made. Our business drastically declined because we were not locally, nationally or internationally known. It was a great learning experience but our business TANKED. We decided to go back to Keller Williams in 2004. The first month back to Keller Williams my business TRIPLED.
